Bernd Widemann, or Berni for short, is a guidance counsellor and teacher, who helps students to get accepted to universities around the world.

Personal

Berni is originally from Germany and moved to Hanoi in Vietnam in March 2014. Born in a Bavarian (Southern German) town, just north of Munich, his life turned out to be extremely varied and exciting. From growing up in London and spending his formative years in Lagos, Nigeria, he spent another 14 years in the UK before once again getting the urge for new pastures and heading out to Vietnam.

Academic

Academically, he was privileged to study in the UK, near the beautiful seaside town of Brighton, at the University of Sussex . For his undergraduate degree he read Economics for three years, which was a good foundation for his postgraduate degree in Environment Development and Policy.

Professional

After graduating with an MA, he moved back to London to work in both the University of London and UCL. He very much enjoyed his time at these world leading universities, working as the Assistant Registrar. After six years, and feeling the need to develop he decided to move to and retrain as a teacher. With both his extensive university background and  knowledge of IELTS he continued to counsel and guide senior year students at three of the top international schools in Hanoi and Beijing, helping them find their preferred course at the right university abroad. During his years working in the higher education sector he built a global network of university connections.
